I said in my last post that I was planning to make another blanket exactly like the one I'd just done because I loved it so much and wanted to try a different color yarn for the joining of the squares. I have completed that and will share it below. I think I'm over the making of granny squares for a bit as that's just about all I've done for the past month! (And THAT is where January went to!)
My last blanket was joined with the cocoa color yarn that I used in the last round of each granny square. This one is joined with antique white.

The joining color is the same as the border. While I did a bobble border on the last blanket, I changed it up and did a little picot type border here with one row of dc around and then a row of ch3 in one st, sl st in the next, ch3 in the same st as the prior sl st and sl st in the next, etc.
Here's a close up of that joining stitch...the link for how to do it is in my previous post.

And a view hanging over the back of the couch:

An H sized hook and various colors of I Love This Yarn were used in its creation.
I also whipped up a pair of booties earlier in the week. These are for a darling friend who is expecting her first child this year.

I've been working on another blanket...it's the one that lulls me to sleep at night. I keep it at my bedside and sit and crochet until my eyes cross. Like some slippers I made a while back, it is this wonderful neutral shade, but looks quite dull in a photograph! I believe I said photographing this color was like trying to make oatmeal look appealing! But, can I tell you...this is the softest, most cuddly little blankie. The bobble stitch just makes for a wonderful little soft, nubby cuddle up! I can't decide if I should put an edging on it...and if so...WHICH edging. Any thoughts from my kind readers?
Take a look and tell me your thoughts:

We have glorious sunshine here after an early morning rain. I need to go throw a ball for my Dudley...the boy LOVES his ball game!

Thanks for visiting! I love your comments!
I love both blankets and will definitely use your joining stitch the next time I have to put together squares (which will be fairly soon). Cute booties and cute doggy.
ReplyDeleteI have been missing you!!!! And I think you are the dear friend for making those booties. Love the blanket I can see why you wanted to make two of them. Beautiful colors. And your boy is adorable. My Max twisted his ankle and is trying to lay low for a while for it to heal

The baby booties and the baby blanket are both so sweet. I love them! Not sure what boarder to use on the blanket, but it looks so soft and warm.
