So Much Negativity Voiced Here Today

The drama around here today is very sad.  Really?  All these sad stories...REALLY?????

I'm happy today.  I woke up and was able to get out of bed.  After being diagnosed with cancer twice and fighting for my life, I am very happy for every day I have with my loved ones and friends.  Whomever resides in the White House cannot give me the gift of being cancer free.

I'm happy today.  My husband who has Parkinson's was able to get out of bed and walk fairly normally and get himself off to work.  Whomever resides in the White House for the next four years cannot affect the progression of the disease that steals him away day by day.  We are grateful for every day he has.

I'm happy today for oh so many reasons and I choose to look at my happiness rather than count my woes.

What will YOU do to bring peace to this nation?  Stating your woes and painting grim scenes on the internet perpetuates division and hatred.   United we stand, divided we fall.  I implore you all...whether our candidate won or lost...be an American and work toward the success of all Americans...find your love and lose your hate.  No one will win as long as we are wrapped up in hatred.

  2. I am not American, Annette, but my brother is so I guess that makes me feel like an honorary one too ;)

Not talking about politics--you are perfectly right! I know exactly what you mean about the gift of being cancer free. Each day is a battle won. And we have to appreciate every single bit of positivity we can, and be thankfull for it!

So... like Elisa... I say AMEN to this! XXX

  3. You are right. I think that we have all placed too much value on who is sitting in the President's chair and no enough on what maybe we can each do to make things better. I'm glad you posted what you did today because it certainly put things into perspective for me. Hugs!

  4. I've had a rough time through this election - my daughter is an extreme conservative and has spewed venom on facebook for actually the last 5 years and it got really nasty these last few months.. hubby and I are happy with our leadership so it's been very hard to read those negative rantings. I hope that things will get back to a happier place now that this election is over. ((hugs)),

I hope you and your husband will feel great and healthy and prosper.

  6. Through out all the pre election bickering on fb I did not say anything because seriously it was crazy and many times people were mean to each other. I admit I am going through seriously hard times but I am also so blessed. And no matter what when I cuddle with my littlest one and sing songs like count your blessings instead of sheep all the bad things seem to dissapear at least for a bit.

  8. Amen and Amen!!!
I am happy too. My husband is now cancer free too. He had a recent bout with pancreatic cancer. I have RA and Systemic Lupus, but today is so far a good day. We have 2 beautiful daughters and 1 granddaughter who has been the light of our lives for her 5 years and have just learned there will be a new grandbaby this summer. There are always more blessings if we look for them. The White House does NOT control our lives. Not mine at least. Thank You Dear for you words. And God's Blessing on YOU and your HUBBY.

    1. Love this comment! Thank you for taking the time to write it! Looking for joy in our lives...it's such a wonderful way to spend a day! Each day is a blessing and the ONLY legacy we leave behind is how we've touched the hearts and souls of others. Money, belongings, politics...none of it matters when we're gone...only the love we've left behind. Big hugs to you, Danette!

  9. You are right. Many people spew negativity constantly and place so much importance and blame on One man. Not one single person can be responsible for the woes of the world. With my job I see pain and suffering daily (social worker at a nursing facility). I love it...but try to find ways to be positive for the people who are so needing it in their last days. Many of the negative, right fighters do not truly understand problems and pain...unfortunately we All will. I choose to search for any and all things positive. It is the only way to find motivation to be happy and raise children in this cruel world. Joy is found within and I feel for those who do not choose to claim this instead of hate and blame. Thanks so much for your post and I hope you are happy and well,
    Liz
